Skype now breaks the language barrier for its users with the latest version of Windows. The service just announced its capability of translating seven spoken languages: Chinese (mandarin), English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Translation for more languages is available, but only via text messaging and not speech. Regarding the Greek language, Skype offers the option of translating to and from the user only in the form of messages. “Skype’s goal is to bring people from all over the world together. With the Skype Translator service we can now overcome the language barrier,” stated the company in its blog. All that the user needs to do is activate the Translator and designate the communication languages.
