The Ilias Lalaounis Jewellery Museum will host the works of 50 Greek artistic jewellery creators as part of the temporary exhibition “New Territories”, which will open its doors on February 3 and will last until May 20. The jewellery pieces that will be presented have been created at the artists’ workshops and form a counter-response to High Jewellery and mass production. The exhibition aims at promoting the creators, many of whom teach at schools in Greece and abroad, while most participate in a number of Jewellery Fairs and exhibitions in Europe. The program includes international celebrity visits from museums and galleries as well as lectures by art historians and collectors. In addition, artists will have the opportunity to reveal their work to amateurs and professionals, namely the general and specialized public. It is worth noting that the exhibition is expected to travel to the United States, where the museum begins a new program for the promotion of Greek art at major museums and collectors.
The Ilias Lalaounis Jewelery Museum is open:
Tuesday – Saturday: 9am – 3pm
Wednesday 9am – 9pm
Sunday: 11am – 4pm
Closed on public holidays and Mondays.
The exhibition can be visited with the museum’s general ticket, while admission will be free on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 3 to 9pm.
