One of the oldest sports events, counting almost two centuries of life, will be clocked for the first time by Parmigiani Fleurier. The event in question is the Cancer Research UK Boat Race, which forms a significant part of British culture. It takes place once a year and involves rowing competitions between the crews of the Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Both womens’ and mens’ rowing teams take part, competing in the waters of the River Thames. The proceeds from the event are given towards cancer research. Note that Cancer Research UK is the most important sponsor of research in the fight against cancer, with the US state coming next in terms of donations.
